| Census | 1861; Thornton Dale, Yorkshire, England; |
| Note | 7) Death: - wife listed as widon in 1871 census Additional Notes: ============= In 1861 census, we have Adam Weal (aged 39) living in Thornton Dale with his wife Ann (aged 36) and their children : Francis (aged 6), Mary (aged 6mo) and Elizabeth (aged 4years) - see below. Although from the 1861 census, it looks like Adam is not married to Jane, we believe that this is an error on the census: 1) We have only one marriage of an Adam Weal, and it is to a Jane Warkup 2) In the 1871 census, we have Jane Weal and her children living with her mother Hannah Warcup. Jane's children are listed as Hannah's grand-children. We therefore think that Adam was actually living with Jane in 1861, not Ann. |
