There are a number of Calvert families based in various locations in East Yorkshire. This page is dedicated to studying how the descendants of George Calvert b 1734 who lived in Wawne, East Yorkshire spread around the county.
The trees for each town/village on this page are transcribed from images of the early parish registers.
East Yorkshire Calverts Map
This shows the movement of the Calvert family as it spreads to different villages. You can see from this map that this group originated in Wawne, and subsequently spread to Bilton, Drypool, Sutton-on-Hull, Skeckling-cum-Burstwick, Keyingham, and Halsham.

Wawne
Currently at the top of the Wawne tree is a George Calvert born abt 1734 who married Mary Marling in Wawne. He was a carpenter and that appears to be the occupation that the majority of his descendents followed for the next 260+ years. They were all listed as carpenter, joiner and wheelwrights.
George and Mary's first son (also called George b 1769) moved to Bilton where he married Hannah Pickering. The rest of the family all stayed in Bilton apart from a couple of descendents who moved to Beverley.

Bilton
George Calvert b1769 moved to Bilton from Wawne where he lived and was buried. He had two sons and a grand-son who moved to different areas in the Hull district. George b1802 moved to Sutton-on-Hull, Thomas b1796 moved to Skeckling-cum-Burstwick and his grand-son Thomas b1826 moved to Drypool. Thomas b1796 who moved to Skeckling-cum-Burstwick, then emigrates. Subsequently he, and the majority of his family move to Indiana, United States.
Perhaps more interestingly another grandson of George b1734 (John Wood Calvert b1831) marries Eliza Crawforth in Drypool in 1852. He then appears in Michigan, United States with no other members of his family and marries a second wife in 1870.

Beverley
Walter (b1811) is the head of the Beverley branch of the Calverts. He is the grand-son of George Calvert (b1734 in Wawne). Walter is yet another of the Calvert wheelwrights. He stays in Beverley all his life (along with a large percentage of his descendants).

Skeckling
Thomas (b1796) is the head of the Skeckling-cum-Burstwick branch of the Calverts, unsurprisingly, yet another wheelwright. His family split into two distinct halves. His sons Thomas, Frank and George married and moved to nearby towns (Hull, Keyingham and Ryehill). More interestingly Thomas (b1796), his wife, sons Walter and Henry (and his family) and daughter Rose all emigrated to Indiana USA.
There are a couple of people who took the Calvert name. George Kitchen became George Kitchen Calvert when George marries Eliza Kitchen. Also Robert Hall Jackson (an illegitimate son of Frances) becomes Robert Henry Calvert when the family emigrated.

Hull
Thomas Calvert b1830 is the youngest of the 3 brothers (born in Skeckling-cum-Bustwick) who stayed in Yorkshire when the rest of the family went to Indiana, USA. Thomas moved to Hull where he lived with his family, working as a wheelwright until he died.
There are numerous other Calvert families in Hull, which may link together so Hull Calverts may be re-visited.

Keyingham
Francis Calvert b1828 is middle of the 3 brothers (born in Skeckling-cum-Bustwick) who stayed in Yorkshire when the rest of the family went to Indiana, USA. Francis moved to Keyingham where he lived with his family, working as a blacksmith until he died.
There are numerous other Calvert families already in Keyingham decades before Francis arrived, but as yet these remain unconnected.

Ryehill
George Calvert b1823 is oldest of the 3 brothers (born in Skeckling-cum-Bustwick) who stayed in Yorkshire when the rest of the family went to Indiana, USA. Francis moved to Ryehill where he lived with his family, working as a joiner/wheelwright. Although there are no parish records available, we know he lived in Ryehill and his descendents subsequently moved to Swanland.
Drypool
Thomas Calvert b1826 is descended from the Bilton branch of Calverts. His daughter Jane Eliza Calvert marries George Kitchen Calvert. They are distantly related, with both sharing the same great-grandfather (George Calvert b1768 Wawne) !
There are numerous other Calvert families in Drypool yet to be identified. Another of the Bilton Calverts (John b1797) also moves to Drypool so it is plausible that the currently unidentified Calverts may connect at some point.

Sutton
Most of the Calverts in Sutton are descended from George Calvert b1802 who was from the Bilton branch of Calverts. Breaking with tradition he became a blacksmith rather than a joiner/wheelwright. Also in Sutton are small families from the Drypool and Beverley branches.
There are two other distinct Calvert families in Sutton who may well connect at some point.
